William Cantrell, M.D. Dr. Cantrell is a Family Practice physician. He earned his medical degree at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed his residency at the University of Indiana Medical Center in Indianapolis. He has been with PCA since its inception in the early 1990s. He served 3 terms as Chief of Staff of Hunt Regional Medical Center at Greenville, Assistant Chief of Staff, Chairman of the Department of Family Practice, Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Chairman of the hospital Credentials Committee. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice. Dr. Cantrell and his wife Julia have two children, Julia Alice and Bill. Dr. Cantrell is a Greenville native. When he isn’t looking after patients he enjoys travel, reading, and remembering the adventures he has had sailing and on the ski slopes. He was inspired to practice medicine by his grandfather, a Greenville doctor who began his practice in the 1890s.
